Introduction
The hydrocarbon industry handles highly hazardous chemicals; therefore, it is susceptible to major emergencies such as fires, explosions, or spills that can cause contamination of freshwater sources. Consequently, OSHA regulation 1910 sets forth certain multidisciplinary guidelines to prevent major emergencies, which can be applicable in drilling, reconditioning, and even in operations for stimulating both conventional and unconventional wells.
