Introduction
Arpel, the Association of Oil, Gas, and Renewable Energy Companies of Latin America and the Caribbean, and Naturgas, the Colombian Natural Gas Association, organized the Arpel-Naturgas Week 2024, combining the 7th Arpel Conference with the Naturgas 2024 Congress.
"The driving force behind fair energy transitions for Latin America and the Caribbean" was the motto of this important event, which took place from April 8th to 12th in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
The simultaneous presence of Arpel and Naturgas in one location during the same week was an unprecedented occurrence. Over five days, international experts on energy issues, senior executives from the region's leading oil and gas companies, government authorities from various Latin American countries, academics, and industry professionals had the opportunity to discuss global and geopolitical perspectives; regional challenges of energy transitions; sustainable management for social and operational licensing; digital transformation; and the future of work, among other significant topics.
Furthermore, current and structural issues in the natural gas industry were analyzed, along with international trends, public and regulatory policies, highlighting the role of natural gas as a key vector for achieving fair energy transitions.
The Arpel-Naturgas Week 2024 provided an excellent space for establishing new business relationships and strengthening existing ones.
Undoubtedly, this event was a success and the unique opportunity for the exchange of ideas and collaboration in the oil, natural gas, and renewable energy sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.
