In a context of accelerated change in the global energy landscape, driven by technological, geopolitical, and environmental transformations, the Arpel Leadership Program is renewed to deliver a world-class strategic training experience.
Launched in 2018 together with our partners from Latin America and the Caribbean, the Arpel Leadership Program evolves in 2026 with an optimized hybrid format, designed to better fit demanding executive schedules. This edition also expands its reach to include leaders from Africa and concludes with a final in-person stage in Houston (USA), in collaboration with the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University.
More than a course, it is a professional and personal transformation experience that strengthens strategic vision, expands professional networks, and provides the tools to lead the future of energy.

Course Outline
The program is designed to comprehensively and practically address the main challenges and opportunities of the energy sector:
- UPSTREAM - Global factors and their impact on the regional upstream sector
- REFINING - The role of refining in the scenario of energy transition and security
- GAS & RENEWABLES - The role of gas and renewable energies as energy fuels in an increasingly decarbonized world
- CAPSTONE (new) - Developed in collaboration with Rice University’s Baker Institute (Houston, USA) to bring an academic perspective to the analysis of industry strategies.
Learning is guided by international experts from S&P Global Energy. Through keynote presentations, case studies, strategic simulations, and scenario-based analysis, participants address real business and energy transition challenges.
2026 Roadmap
1. VIRTUAL KICKOFF MAY 13, 2026
2. CORE VIRTUAL CYCLE Program development through live virtual sessions led by experts from S&P Global Energy, combining strategic content, applied team work, and group project presentations.
3. INTERNATIONAL CAPSTONE | HOUSTON, UNITED STATES OCTOBER 8–10, 2026. Final in-person stage of the program, developed in collaboration with the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University. It brings together content focused on geopolitics and public policy, and includes a technical visit to the Port of Houston.
Target Audience
Primarily intended for executives and professionals from companies operating across the energy value chain, including exploration and production (Upstream), transportation and logistics (Midstream), and refining and distribution (Downstream) in the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors, who:
• Report directly to the President or Vice President oftheir organization,
• Have strong potential to assume executive orstrategic roles,
• Seek to strengthen their global outlook, expandtheir professional network, and lead thetransformation of the energy sector.
Case-by-case admission (limited seats): profiles from oil and gas services, technology, engineering (EPC), and other strategic industry suppliers will also be considered when their role and seniority align with the program’s objectives.
Not intended for: regulatory authorities, ministries or government agencies, academic institutions, or consulting firms and organizations whose primary role is not operating within the energy value chain.
An Experience Beyond the Classroom
Upon completing the program, participants not only gain up-to-date strategic knowledge, but also become part of a community of energy sector leaders from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa.
With more than 77 participants from 14 countries and 19 leading companies, the Program has proven its ability to foster meaningful connections, in-depth learning, and international projection.
