
Arpel and SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers), a nonprofit professional association based in the United States, have signed a memorandum of understanding to foster knowledge exchange and seek synergies in technical activities and projects relevant to the oil and gas industry.
Carlos Garibaldi, Executive Secretary of Arpel, and Simon Seaton, CEO of SPE, signed the collaboration agreement on February 20.
Among the objectives of both organizations is the promotion of initiatives aimed at the economic growth, regulatory improvement, operational excellence, social and environmental sustainability, as well as human resource development and better knowledge management in the oil, gas, and energy industry.
Currently, SPE has 132,000 members in 146 countries and its mission is to connect the global community of engineers, scientists, and related energy professionals to exchange knowledge, innovate, and advance their technical and professional competence regarding the exploration, development, and production of oil, gas, and related energy resources, in order to achieve a safe, secure and sustainable energy future.
