Introducción
Regulatory institutions for hydrocarbons generally have among their duties and responsibilities the management of data generated during exploration and production activities. This represents a challenge due to the diversity and volume of geological, geophysical, petroleum engineering, environmental, and economic data, among others. It requires designing and implementing an information system, installing and operating infrastructure for the custody of this data (both physical and digital repositories), and ensuring its security to preserve its confidentiality, integrity, and availability. It also represents an advantage and an opportunity for the institution to understand the resources within its jurisdiction and to generate knowledge and economic value from these information assets. This presentation will share the experience and data management model of ANCAP, Uruguay's national oil company, which regulates the activity in the country.
