Arpel en taller Offshore en Surinam organizado por la Agencia Ambiental NIMOS y el Instituto de Hidrocarburos de Staatsolie

Arpel participó de un taller organizado por la agencia ambiental NIMOS (National Institute for Environment and Development in Suriname) y el Instituto de Hidrocarburos de Staatsolie (SHI), realizado con el objetivo de conocer las buenas prácticas regulatorias y de gestión en la cadena de valor de esta industria y compartirlas con profesionales de varias agencias gubernamentales de Surinam.

En la actualidad, Surinam se encuentra en un interesante proceso de desarrollo de sus recursos hidrocarburíferos offshore para apoyar su crecimiento socio-económico.

Para desarrollar este taller, el cual tuvo lugar del 14 al 16 de junio en Paramaribo, NIMOS y SHI invitaron a Arpel, API (American Petroleum Institute), IOGP (International Association of Oil & Gas Producers) y a IADC (International Association of Drilling Contractors) -quienes crearon junto a IPIECA el Trade Associations Support Group para temas ambientales en el Caribe-, a compartir la experiencia y el conocimiento internacional de la industria en buenas prácticas operacionales, de gestión ambiental y de seguridad en toda la cadena de valor del offshore, las cuales permitieran considerar, junto a la experiencia de Surinam, oportunidades para su aplicación para el desarrollo de regulaciones en el sector en el país.

Carlos Garibaldi, Secretario Ejecutivo de Arpel, compartió la experiencia recabada por la Asociación en todos estos años en la región con el fin de fomentar el desarrollo y la aplicación de regulaciones. Asimismo, Garibaldi presentó un estado de situación y perspectivas sobre las transiciones energéticas en América Latina y el Caribe.

Esta actividad es un ejemplo de la función de Arpel como articulador del diálogo cooperativo y pragmático entre empresas, gobiernos, reguladores y asociaciones empresariales en América Latina y el Caribe, impulsando así la transformación del sector petróleo, gas y energía renovable en tiempo de transiciones energéticas y nuevas dinámicas de riesgo.
