More than 200 professionals participated in the last two webinars to exchange best practices in Upstream organized by the Exploration and Production Committee of Arpel.
The first took place on September 19 and was about Reducing failures and energy consumption in artificial lifting systems. The dissertation was by Laura Matheus, Senior Production Engineer at Ecopetrol.
The talk focused on how to improve operational efficiency through failure management methodologies and the use of key indicators to evaluate the performance of different artificial lifting systems.
The causes of failures in 99% of wells that use mechanical pumping systems were discussed, highlighting a systematic analysis that allows identifying areas for improvement.
The implementation of new technologies was also discussed, such as more efficient pumps and permanent magnet motors, which have allowed energy savings of 10% to 20%, also contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
The second webinar was held on October 10 and was led by Pablo Gristo, Head of Exploration and Production at Ancap.
The webinar presented by Ancap focused on exploration data management in the hydrocarbon sector, highlighting the importance of data for decision making and how to transform this data into useful information.
The different types of data that are managed in the Upstream were addressed and how to establish the value of the data was discussed. In addition, the importance of data confidentiality and security was highlighted.
The moderation and coordination of both technical activities was carried out by Pablo Amoedo, Arpel Project Manager.
