On May 7 and 8, the EN-50 course “Industrial Cybersecurity Management for Projects in the Energy, Oil, and Gas Sector” was held as part of the Industrial Cybersecurity Training Program developed for Arpel by the renowned WiseCourses Academy.

This new edition, delivered by Maximillian Kon in a virtual synchronous format, was attended by 16 professionals from various regional companies, including Enap, Petroperú, Tecpetrol, PAE, Honeywell, TGP, Recope, Ecopetrol, YPF, EP Petroecuador, Pluspetrol and Indra.

This first module was dedicated to industrial cybersecurity lifecycle management, aligned with ISA/IEC-62443 standards and key regulations such as NERC, C2M2 and TSA, covering all necessary aspects to develop and implement a mature cybersecurity program.

The Industrial Cybersecurity Training Program continued with the EN-60 module “Cyber Risk Assessment in New and Existing Industrial Systems in Energy, Oil and Gas”, conducted from May 28 to 31 with a total duration of 16 hours. Upon completing this module, participants will be able to accurately assess cyber risks, make informed decisions, and develop effective action plans to reduce risks within their organizations, thus contributing to the creation of more resilient infrastructures.

The training will continue with module EN-61, "Design and Implementation of Cybersecurity Recommendations in Zones and Conduits," which will be conducted in a virtual and synchronous format from June 25 to 27, with a total duration of 12 hours.

Pablo Amoedo, the coordinator of Arpel's Industrial Cybersecurity Committee, emphasizes that “industrial cybersecurity is no longer an option, but an unavoidable priority. Training in this critical field is the first step to protecting the most valuable assets and creating a resilient infrastructure in the face of emerging threats. The future of the industry depends on it.
