¿Cómo están avanzando las empresas referentes del sector en su camino hacia economías bajas en carbono?, Webinar Arpel-world benchmarking alliance
Más de 100 profesionales representantes de ANCAP, Chevron, Ecopetrol, ENAP, EP Petroecuador, GeoPark, Honeywell, NGC, OCP Ecuador, Pan American Energy, PDVSA, PEMEX, Petrobras, Petroperú, Raízen, Recope, SLB, Tecpetrol, Tema Litoclean, TGN, YPF e YPFB participaron del webinar organizado por Arpel a comienzos de noviembre sobre “Planes de descarbonización de la industria del petróleo y gas. ¿Cómo están avanzando las empresas referentes del sector?”.

La Directora Gerente de Arpel, Irene Alfaro, actúo como moderadora de las disertantes Laura Hurtado Verazaín y Vicky Sins, quienes presentaron los resultados del Informe "Benchmark de energía y clima del sector petróleo y gas 2023" elaborado por World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA), así como el alcance de este estudio que evalúa los planes de transición baja en carbono de las 100 empresas más influyentes en el sector.

En el webinar se exploró el progreso de las empresas de petróleo y gas en América Latina y el Caribe en su camino hacia economías bajas en carbono y se analizaron mecanismos para impulsar, implementar y comunicar planes de transición más robustos, factibles y justos en base a este marco de análisis.

El foco de la presentación fue la Iniciativa ACT (Assessing low-Carbon Transition), una herramienta para medir la credibilidad de los planes de transición desarrollados por empresas y su potencial para alcanzar sus objetivos con base científica.
La ACT tiene un enfoque operativo, holístico y con visión de futuro para la responsabilidad climática corporativa y fue desarrollada a través de grupos de trabajo técnicos multilaterales y consultas públicas.

La presentación y la discusión se enfocaron en el Benchmarking de energía y clima para el sector del petróleo y gas.
La metodología es gratuita y de acceso público, y explica las expectativas de cada indicador, así como cada elemento y su alcance.
