International Guide for Oil Spill Response Planning and Preparedness Assessment, developed by Arpel, IMO, and Ipieca

  • On December 12th, Arpel conducted an exclusive webinar for member companies in which it introduced the "International Guide for Oil Spill Response Planning and Preparedness Assessment."

The meeting also described the functionalities of the beta version of the new web application for the RETOS™ tool (Readiness Evaluation Tool for Oil Spills).

RETOS™ is used by governments and industries in over 100 countries worldwide.

The webinar was conducted by Miguel Moyano, Senior Managing Director of Arpel, and moderated by Tiphaine Le Moënner, Senior Manager of Operational Excellence at Arpel.

The Guide and the web application were recently developed collaboratively by Arpel, the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and Ipieca.

The international guide is now available in Arpel's web library (https://arpel.org/library/publication/539/).

Next, Moyano presented the evaluation of the results from the survey on priorities of Arpel member companies regarding spill planning and response issues. This sets the stage for the relaunch of the Emergency Response Planning Project Team (EPPRE) in order to define its activity plan for 2024.
