Membership in ARPEL is open to companies and institutions of the oil, natural gas and biofuels sector with operations in Latin America and the Caribbean (the Region). There are three member categories with a different annual membership fee

Active Members: Operating companies developing activities in the region that are approved by the Board of Directors. They may be members of all the Association bodies and have the right to voice and vote in such bodies.

Cooperating Members: Companies providing technology, goods and services to operating companies, which carry out activities in at least three countries in the region and are approved by the Board of Directors. They may be members of all the Association bodies with certain limitations, and have the right to voice and vote in operational matters, and the right to voice in strategic matters.
Membership of a company or business group covers all its branches and wholly-owned subsidiaries operating under the same name within the region..

Institutional Members: National, regional or international institutions or organizations whose activities are related to the oil, natural gas or biofuels sector, and aligned with the purpose of the Association. They may participate in technical committees and have the right to voice at the Assembly.
