Arpel's Geotechnical Projects Team at IPG 2023 in Colombia

  • After the virtual meeting held in early october, Arpel's Geotechnical Projects Team (EPGEO), led by Fabián Sánchez, held a face to face meeting on November with the participation of professionals from the companies TGN, TGP, CENIT, OCENSA, RECOPE, OCP Ecuador and YPF.

    On this occasion, the working team focused on participating in the sixth edition of the International Pipeline Geotechnical Conference (IPG 2023), scheduled for November 23rd and 24th in Bogotá, Colombia.

    As part of this event, the team presented the second Arpel guide for the execution of civil and geotechnical works, which is available to professionals from member companies. Download link: https://arpel.org/library/publication/538/

    The content of this Guide places special emphasis on issues related to the types of geotechnical works that are required at different stages of an asset's life cycle.

    The group is also working on the launch of the third Arpel Guide on geotechnical risks. The document will address various topics including risk analysis; types of risk analysis; management through mathematical analysis; and geotechnical risk matrices, as well as including case studies.
