"El objetivo es entender la necesidad de realismo, pragmatismo y cooperación necesarios para alcanzar transiciones energéticas plurales, justas y viables”

A fines de junio en Quito, el Secretario Ejecutivo de Arpel, Carlos Garibaldi, brindó una conferencia sobre los “Desafíos y Oportunidades de la Transición Energética” ante un auditorio colmado de jóvenes estudiantes de ingeniería de la Universidad de Las Américas de Ecuador.

"Para que nuestra industria, como agente indispensable de las transiciones energéticas, sea sostenible, debe preservar su licencia social. Además de descarbonizar sus operaciones tradicionales y diversificar su portafolio de productos energéticos con fuentes renovables, debe también hacer sentir su voz ante todos los grupos sociales de interés. Eso es indispensable también para atraer y retener a las generaciones futuras de su capital humano", expresó Garibaldi con motivo de su visita al centro de estudios.

Esta iniciativa de Arpel de llevar los principales mensajes del sector energético regional a los claustros universitarios, atiende estas prioridades. En dichos ámbitos comentamos sobre la Transición Energética acerca de su urgencia, alternativas, incertidumbres y condiciones de contorno.

"El objetivo es entender la necesidad de realismo, pragmatismo y cooperación necesarios para alcanzar transiciones energéticas plurales, justas y viables", señaló Garibaldi.

Por su parte, el Decano de la Facultad de Ingenierías y Ciencias Aplicadas de la UDLA, Diego Buenaño, dijo que “como academia, creemos firmemente en la importancia de ofrecer estos espacios de reflexión a nuestros estudiantes”.

Durante la visita a dicho país, Garibaldi fue invitado además por la Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) de Guayaquil. En esta ocasión, se refirió al rol que desempeña Arpel en la región y a su misión de promover la excelencia operacional y el desarrollo sostenible de la industria de petróleo y gas a través de la cooperación entre las empresas socias y de la colaboración con los principales grupos de interés.
