Arpel presente en lanzamiento del Plan de Descarbonización de EP Petroecuador

Arpel participó del lanzamiento del Plan de Descarbonización y Sostenibilidad Empresarial de EP Petroecuador, el cual se realizó el pasado 26 de julio en Quito y contó con la presencia de autoridades gubernamentales, representantes de compañías, organismos internacionales e instituciones afines al sector de petróleo y gas.

Según informó EP Petroecuador, empresa socia de Arpel, este proyecto técnico-estratégico le permitirá a la compañía avanzar en acciones dirigidas a la reducción de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, de acuerdo a la política ambiental y energética implementada por el gobierno de ese país.

“Es fundamental invertir en la investigación y el desarrollo de tecnologías amigables con el medio ambiente, para reducir la huella de carbono, mejorar la eficiencia energética y disminuir los costos operacionales en exploración y producción, transporte, refinación y la comercialización en los mercados nacional e internacional”, expresó el Gerente General de EP Petroecuador, Ramón Correa Vivanco.

Carlos Garibaldi, Secretario Ejecutivo de Arpel, fue invitado especialmente a participar en el acto de lanzamiento en el que brindó una charla sobre “Sostenibilidad y Transformación Corporativa de las empresas petroleras”.

“Nuestras empresas asociadas, cada una conforme a las oportunidades derivadas de su entorno y contexto, han encarado sus transformaciones corporativas para combatir el cambio climático y evolucionar hacia la provisión de fuentes de energía más sostenibles”, sostuvo Garibaldi. Y agregó que en lo inmediato todas se enfocan en descarbonizar sus operaciones e instalaciones hacia alcanzar cero emisiones netas de GEI mientras tanto, en paralelo, buscan diversificar sus portafolios energéticos.

EP Petroecuador opera en 25 bloques petroleros, 22 en la Amazonía y tres en el Litoral, y tiene a su cargo cerca del 80% de la producción nacional equivalente de crudo, que incluye petróleo y gas.
