Arpel presenta visión regional de transiciones energéticas justas en evento de Asociación Panameña de Ejecutivos de Empresa

La Comisión de Energía y Combustibles de la Asociación Panameña de Ejecutivos de Empresa (APEDE) organizó el pasado 7 de febrero el XII Foro de Energía 2024 en la Ciudad de Panamá bajo el lema “Agenda de Energía y Combustibles hacia una Transición Energética justa y equitativa”.

El mismo fue un importante aporte a la discusión sobre la transición energética en Panamá y las perspectivas futuras, enfocando también en los retos y oportunidades de la región.

Miguel Moyano, Director Gerente Senior de Arpel estuvo a cargo de la disertación inaugural, presentando “Una visión realista de las transiciones energéticas justas en América Latina y el Caribe”.

Moyano agradeció a APEDE y a todos los stakeholders clave de Panamá el haber confiado en Arpel para compartir su visión sobre la temática, esperando que la información y las lecciones aprendidas a nivel regional e internacional que compartió hayan sido de valor para continuar el proceso de transición energética en este país.

Posteriormente, participó de un panel junto con Rosilena Lindo Riggs, Secretaria de Energía; Julio Cohen, Director Senior de AES Corporation; Arturo Alarcón, Especialista Senior de Energía del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo y Cynthia Camargo, Directora de Naturgy.

El panel abarcó una variedad de aristas de la temática de transiciones energéticas incluyendo financiamiento, tecnología, participación de stakeholders, el marco normativo y la importancia de atender el trilema energético.

Rafael Jaén Williamson, miembro del comité organizador, destacó que en Panamá los combustibles fósiles dominan la matriz energética, por lo que el verdadero desafío, para lograr los objetivos de la transición energética, es velar por la coexistencia equilibrada entre fuentes renovables y no renovables para garantizar seguridad energética a lo largo de todo el proceso.
