Arpel en mesa redonda privada del Center for Global Energy Policy de la Universidad de Columbia
Arpel participó a fines de abril de una mesa redonda privada sobre el rol del gas natural en la transición energética de América Latina y el Caribe, evento organizado por el Center for Global Energy Policy (CGEP) de la Universidad de Columbia (Estados Unidos).

Este centro, que recientemente cumplió 10 años, es uno de los centros de pensamiento sobre energía y geopolítica más relevantes a nivel mundial, en el que participan académicos y líderes del sector energético.

Carlos Garibaldi, Secretario Ejecutivo de Arpel, fue el encargado de la presentación ante un selecto panel de expertos, en la que se dio a conocer el White Paper titulado “El gas natural en la transición hacia economías con bajas emisiones de carbono: el caso de América Latina y el Caribe”, lanzado a mediados de abril por Arpel, la Unión Internacional del Gas (IGU) y la Organización Latinoamericana de Energía (OLADE).

En esta oportunidad, la cual fue el primer hito de colaboración entre Arpel y el CGEP, participaron también Andrea Stegher, actual vicepresidente y futuro presidente de IGU y Marta González, co-autora del documento. La discusión la moderó Anne-Sophie Corbeau, especialista en gas y reconocida investigadora académica.

En el encuentro se generó una discusión estratégica, de alto nivel, y sobre todo profunda, sobre el rol del gas natural en la transición energética en América Latina y el Caribe, desde la perspectiva de varias personas que fueron responsables de la política pública en algunos de los mercados más importantes de gas de la región.
