In mid-June, ARPEL organized a webinar dedicated to “Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) of Tanks. Challenging Covid-19 times and high product inventories”.
The webinar was led by Verónica Andrea Domínguez, Senior Integrity Engineer at Rosen, and Iván Grosman, Business Line Manager - Integrity Solutions at Rosen South America Region.
In a context where the demand for liquid hydrocarbons and derivatives has fallen to minimum levels and it has become necessary to maintain high inventories in storage complexes, it is necessary to answer the question: what happens when inspection plans cannot be executed according to what is scheduled?
For this reason, this webinar provided information on how to use RBI strategies for integrity management and prioritization of tank inspection, thanks to integrated digital tools.
On August 12, the ARPEL member companies Axion Energy and Pan American Energy offered the webinar “Digital Refinery. Matrix and real-time optimization. Campana Refinery Case”.
At the meeting, the experience of Axion's Campana Refinery in implementing advanced control and real-time optimization for the optimization of processes was presented. A theoretical base, practical examples and lessons learned in the implementation and maintenance of these types of controllers were shown.
The speakers were Clara Jaureguiberry, Leader of the Process Control team, and Javier Marín, Control Engineer of the Campana Refinery.
Meanwhile, on September 2, the webinar “Use of FCC Simulator in Operation, Planning and Project. History and Experience of Petrobras” was held.
It had the participation of Samir Silva Abunahman, Process Engineer in the Automation of Refining, Gas and Energy Projects; Lara Shelene da Silva Teixeira, Process engineer in the area of Refining, Gas and Energy Project Automation, and Leandro Morais Silva, Process engineer in the area of design and technical assistance for FCC converters.
