ARPEL Refining Committee held a new virtual meeting of professionals on September 30.

On this occasion, the topic was the methodology to systematically monitor risks at Ecopetrol Refinery in Cartagena (Colombia).

The presentation was given by Engineer Luis Gómez, Comprehensive Risk Management Coordinator of Reficar.

The topics addressed during the workshop included work permit management, change management, maintenance and operational tasks, and the correct operation and reliability of engineering barriers.

“Although refineries work on this issue every day, it is still their first cause of accidents and incidents. The exchange among professionals from different Latin American facilities adds value to all participants,” said Ricardo Buyatti, the Refining Committee Coordinator.
