NEW REMOTE TRAINING SCHEMES: THE FIRST DELIVERY OF THE WORKSHOP SERIES “HUMAN TALENT TRANSFORMATIONS IN THE POST-COVID SCENARIO”

  • The first delivery of the series of virtual workshops “Human Talent Management Transformations in the Post-COVID Scenario” took place on July 23.

The first meeting was attended by professionals from 12 companies: EP Petroecuador, Ancap, Petroperú, Honeywell, YPF, Tecpetrol, TGS, IAE, HPINC, PCR, Pluspetrol and Ecopetrol, coming from six countries in the Region: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay.

The topic was “New remote training schemes: the accelerated transformation to online mode”, in charge of Erica Moya, Head of Training and Education Services, and Sofía Castañeda, Training and Education Content and Services Analyst, both from EP Petroecuador, ARPEL’s member company.

On this occasion, EP Petroecuador presented its experience transforming its training scheme to online mode, as a result of the restrictions on attendance brought about by the pandemic, triggering an active debate and experiences shared among the professionals who participated in the workshop.

The main topics addressed included: The challenges to implement online training for technical competencies related to field operations; The existence of new technologies to overcome this challenge (simulators, augmented reality, etc.); The importance of creating new competencies in instructors, as well as supporting employees to cope with the pandemic, providing different tools and training courses to reconcile life and work from home.

The experts also talked about the importance and implementation of new training methods using different platforms, and how the boundary/cycle between training and knowledge application is broken when digitalization allows access to knowledge at all times.

The next delivery will be on August 20 and will focus on “The Gender and Diversity Policy.” The presentation will be given by professionals from the partner company Tecpetrol.

The idea of this Workshop Series is that expert/senior professionals from areas such as Human Talent Management, Knowledge Management, Training, People Development or related areas in oil and gas companies (members and non-members of ARPEL) can take part in the meetings.
