COLOMBIA HOSTED THE FIRST MODULE OF ARPEL LEADERSHIP ROGRAM, TO BE CONTINUED IN HOUSTON IN SEPTEMBER

  • Professionals from Ancap, Cupet, Ecopetrol, GeoPark, OCP Ecuador, Tecpetrol and YPF started their training at the new edition of ARPEL Leadership Program, with the three 100% on-site modules to be delivered in Colombia, the United States and Mexico.

    Module 1 – “Global Factors and their Effect on the Latin American Upstream sector”– took place from May 30 to June 1, 2023 in Bucaramanga. On this occasion, in addition to two days of case studies, simulations and interactive sessions with oil and gas experts, the participants were able to make a technical visit to Ecopetrol's Colombian Petroleum Institute (ICP).

    The main goal of ARPEL Leadership Program is to give professionals from industries in the sector in Latin America –who report to the President or Vice president– a broad vision of the industry’s future as well as problem-solving skills.

    Bob Fryklund -Vice President and Upstream Energy Chief Strategist- and Rodrigo Vaz -Upstream Research Director at S&P Global- were the instructors at this first module, which covered topics such as: How will the future of the energy business look like? What are global and regional companies doing to meet NDCs and low carbon goals? How should Upstream companies’ portfolios be analyzed? and What drives stock market profitability?

    Module 2 will take place in Houston on September 13-15, will address The Role of Refining in the Energy Transition and Energy Security landscape, and will include a technical visit to Deer Park refinery.
