TRAINING ON PIPELINE INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT AT YPFB TRANSPORTE

  • Professionals of COGA, Enap, Oldelval, Petroperú, Pluspetrol, YPF and YPFB Transporte participated in the last edition of the course on Pipeline Integrity Management devoted to "Forces of nature, operational errors and third party actions," which was developed in the facilities of YPFB Transporte in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

This third module of the training provides knowledge and skills to identify, diagnose and implement prevention, control and mitigation systems to any failure produced by external geodynamics processes (landslides, erosion, subsidence of the bottom of river channels, and margins in water currents, etc.) or internal geodynamics processes (volcanic activity seismicity).

In addition, case studies of operating errors, their failure modes, effects, immediate causes, and control and mitigation actions are studied. As regards third party actions, cases of perforation, ruptures, scratches and dents in pipelines as well as the respective control and mitigation tasks are analyzed.

The accreditation program on Pipeline Integrity Management given by ARPEL aims to facilitate the identification of the various threats that can interfere with this type of infrastructure and implement relevant prevention and mitigation actions to minimize their effects.

The second module of training on "Internal corrosion” will be held November 27- December 2 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
