  • ARPEL took part in ICE 2022, which was organized by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) from April 19 to April 22 in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.

Among the attendees were ARPEL's Executive Secretary, Carlos Garibaldi, and the Senior Managing Director, Miguel Moyano, who provided institutional support and also took the opportunity to strengthen relations with companies operating in the region.

ARPEL also had a booth in the exhibition area of this major event.

Once again, the Association participated as an observer in the meeting of State Entities which are responsible for the regulation, promotion, bidding and contracts in the oil and natural gas industry in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The President of the ANH, Armando Zamora, pointed out the importance of the work that ARPEL has been doing to support upstream development and to bring together agencies for cooperation and integration.

At the end of the meeting, ARPEL was invited to share the work they have carried out to support regional cooperation between governments and industry, and also to report on the white papers and studies conducted that gather regional and international best practices in terms of government regulations and strategies on several of the issues that concern the agencies for a sustainable development of the upstream.

With the support of Perupetro, it was announced that ARPEL will hold an agency meeting on November 14 within the framework of the ARPEL 2022 Conference, to be held from November 14 to November 16 in Lima, Peru.

The agencies agreed to participate in meetings called by ARPEL, associated to its main event, as well as to carry out other instances that provide added value to continue the government-government and government-industry conversations on management issues towards cooperation. The opportunity to bring agencies together and develop discussion instances with national oil companies was also mentioned.
