Within the framework of the XXXIII La Jolla Energy Conference, which took place on October 16 and 17 in California, the Institute of the Americas and Arpel signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation focused on promoting sustainability and good management in the energy sector.
The agreement was signed by the Executive Secretary of Arpel, Carlos Garibaldi, and by Richard Kiy, president and CEO of the Institute of the Americas. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arpel and President of ANCAP, Alejandro Stipanicic, also participated in the event.
Among the main objectives of this alliance is to promote systematic exchange and the search for synergies in activities and projects relevant to the industry that are developed by both organizations.
Likewise, based on this agreement and to promote closer inter-institutional cooperation and coordination, the Institute of the Americas appointed the Executive Secretary of Arpel as an “Energy Non-Resident Fellow”, joining the network of experts from across the Western Hemisphere and Europe with recognized experience in academia, industry and government, who are an integral part of the Institute in the fulfillment of its mission.
