The European Union position on CO2 Emissions Trading will have an important influence in the oil and gas sector in Latin America and the Caribbean. On one side, it is somehow leading to make sure that the Kyoto Protocol becomes in force and, on the other side, it is developing a CO2 emissions trading scheme. The 7° ARPEL Upper Management Report summarizes the main aspects of its position.
