The present handbook, developed by ARPEL and IICA, has the objective of documenting the best practices of production programs implementation and use of biofuels based on experience, the difficulties and achievements accomplished by the different countries of the region and others. It includes all aspects that make up a sustainable biodiesel production, as well as many issues related to alcohol biofuel, considering all the production chain, from the agricultural stage to the distribution to the final consumer, inclusively. The handbook is divided in two sections: Section 1 – developed by ARPEL – comprises all the productive chain after the agricultural stage; and section 2 – developed by IICA – comprises the agricultural stage exclusively.
