ARPEL, through its Environment, Health and Safety Committee (CASYSIA) and its Process Safety Project Team (EPSP), is working on the implementation of process safety management systems in the oil and gas industry, in order to improve the performance standards and minimize process incidents with potential consequences on people, infrastructure or the environment.
The event will address the experiences and case studies of several oil and gas companies in Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on the development of some elements of process safety management as culture, management of change and mechanical integrity. The workshop will count with the technical participation of the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS), international referents for this topic, institution with which ARPEL has signed a technical cooperation agreement to implement process safety in Latin America.
The workshop will be only for ARPEL/CCPS/IAPG member companies and it seeks to generate a high-level discussion on the difficulties, challenges and solutions found in the implementation of process safety in oil and gas companies.
AGENDA AND DYNAMICS
The agenda will deeply address the challenges in the implementation of a process safety management system in oil and gas companies, considering both the upstream and downstream specific issues.
Using a workshop dynamics, discussion among peers will be promoted rather than keynote presentations. The intention is to share the successful solutions and good practices applied by different companies to be used by others to improve PSM.

Registration is free. However it is only for ARPEL, CCPS and IAPG member companies and it has limited places.
