WEBINARS WITH HYDROCARBON AGENCIES FROM BRAZIL, PERU, COLOMBIA, MEXICO AND THE NEXT 16 WITH ANCAP FROM URUGUAY

  • As a result of the postponement of the ARPEL Conference due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Association was forced to cancel the traditional meeting of State Entities responsible for the regulation, promotion, bidding and contracts in the oil and natural gas sector of Latin America and the Caribbean.

These meetings have proven to be an excellent opportunity to jointly and cooperatively analyze future challenges, common to the vast majority of state entities in the Region.

Taking into account the difficult situation, ARPEL decided to organize a series of webinars: “Preparing the oil and gas industry in Latin America and the Caribbean for the 'new normal'”.

In these webinars, the State Entities of the different countries present in detail the efforts of the governments of the Region to monetize their natural resources in a context of acceleration of the energy transition. These live virtual meetings are co-hosted by our member company IHS-Markit.

The first meeting was on July 7 and was led by the Secretary of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels, José Mauro Ferreira Coelho, from the Ministry of Mines and Energy of Brazil. The moderation was from IHS-Markit Vice President of Upstream Energy, Bob Fryklund. The webinar had the institutional support of the IBP. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQscBXf1Kc0&t=8s

It was followed on July 16 by the Perupetro webinar, with a presentation by the Chairman of the Board, Seferino Yesquén. The moderation was led by IHS-Markit Senior Vice President of Global Energy, Carlos Pascual. On this occasion, the institutional support came from the SNMPE and the SPH of Peru. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tVJ3wQwjsY

At the beginning of August, it was the turn of the President of the National Hydrocarbons Agency of Colombia, Armando Zamora Reyes. The moderation was also in charge of Carlos Pascual. Institutional support came from the ACP. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsNKdP07XJU&t=13s
