ENERGY TRANSITION AND THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY WAS THE SUBJECT PRESENTED BY ARPEL IN THE 7TH LATIN AMERICAN ENERGY ECONOMICS MEETING

  • ARPEL participated in the seventh edition of the Latin American Energy Economics Meeting organized by the Latin American Association for Energy Economics (ALADEE), the regional branch of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE), a global network of experts and academicians for economics and energy studies.

    The event, held March 10-12 in Universidad Torcuato di Tella, Buenos Aires, Argentina, was attended by more than 300 people, mainly from the academic community, and professionals from companies in the energy sector of Latin America as well as of the United States, France and Germany, among other countries.

    Energy transition, sustainability, climate change, energy efficiency and access to energy were the main topics discussed during the event.

    The Sustainability Project Manager of ARPEL, Mr. Pablo Ferragut, made a technical presentation on “The Energy Transition and the Oil and Gas Industry,” which analyzed the characteristics and the drivers of the current energy transition, the role of oil and gas in the global and Latin American energy and economic world, and the medium-term prospects.

    Concurrently with the event, a meeting was held of the Board of ALADEE, which laid the foundations for collaboration between both associations in order to generate knowledge sharing and collaboration in events and courses.
