The main topics to be addressed during the ARPEL 2022 Conference will be energy transition, global crisis and regional opportunities, future of refining and digital transformation

  • “Driving the transformation of the oil and gas sector in our regional context, in times of energy transitions and new risk dynamics" is the theme of the ARPEL 2022 Conference, which will be held from November 14 to 16 in Lima, Peru.

    The Association of Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy Companies of Latin America and the Caribbean (ARPEL) will hold the sixth edition of its main event, 100% face-to-face, with a vast agenda and the participation of executives from the main operating companies and suppliers in the sector.

    There will be three panels of CEOs who will talk about How companies are transforming themselves in this new reality, including Cristina Fung, CEO of Petroperú; Andrés Mendizábal, CEO of COGA; Manuel Zúñiga Pflücker, CEO of PetroTal; Reynaldo Llosa Martino, CEO of UNNA; Tomás Delgado, CEO of TGP; María Aybar, Vice President and General Manager of Perú LNG; Alejandro Stipanicic, President of Ancap; Horacio Marín, President of Exploration and Production of Tecpetrol; Ruth Zambrano, General Manager Ecuador, Colombia and Peru of SLB; Jorge Vugdelija, CEO of OCP Ecuador; Vernon Paltoo, CEO of National Energy of T&T; Mark Loquan, CEO of NGC; Arlene Chow, CEO of Heritage Petroleum; Hugo Aguiar Lozano, General Manager of EP Petroecuador; Annand Jagesar, General Director of Staatsolie, and Armín Dorgathen, President of YPFB.

    The first day will feature a remarkable talk by Daniel Yergin, Vice President of S&P Global, on "The oil and gas sector in the face of energy transition and new risk dynamics".

    Tuesday 15 will begin with a lecture by Schreiner Parker, Senior Vice President and Latin America Manager of Rystad Energy, with ARPEL's Executive Secretary, Carlos Garibaldi as moderator.

    The ARPEL 2022 Conference agenda will also include a panel dedicated to Hydrocarbon Agencies that will address the promotion of hydrocarbon exploration in a context of energy transitions in Latin America and the Caribbean.

    The following will be some of the main topics that will be addresses during the three-day event: Opportunities and challenges for investment in exploration and production; Global crisis and regional opportunities; The future of the refining sector in Latin America and the Caribbean; Developing human talent for the industry of the future; Natural gas in Latin America's energy transition; Integrating sustainability into corporate management; Sustainability, Transparency and Compliance; Climate change, energy transitions and the role of the oil and gas sector; Digital Transformation, reshaping the industry and society; and How to face digital transformation successfully.

    Among the events that will take place on Monday 14, we find the ARPEL Members Assembly, the “Alumni” Meeting of the ARPEL Senior Management Program, the Course "Smart Technologies in Industry 4.0", the Conference "How, why and where we benefit from digital transformation & Industry 4.0", and the Workshop "Diversity, Inclusion and Gender in the O&G Industry”.
