SPECTRUM, AN ARPEL MEMBER COMPANY, SPOKE ABOUT OFFSHORE EXPLORATION IN IAPG CONGRESS HELD IN MENDOZA
The Argentine Institute of Oil and Gas (IAPG) held the 10th Hydrocarbon Exploration and Development Congress, which took place November 5-9 in Mendoza, Argentina.
The Congress is characterized by general technical sessions, poster session, symposia on Geophysics, Formation Evaluation, Unconventional Reservoirs and Development. It also features round tables, courses and field trips. This edition included for the first time a round table on renewable energies.
Spectrum, an ARPEL Member Company and one of the main promoters of the development of the virtual platform of business and collaboration Innov@arpel (www.innovarpel.org), participated in the Offshore Exploration round table “Offshore Challenges", driven by the high expectation for the reactivation of offshore exploration in the Argentine Sea.
The guest panelists were Rodrigo García Berro, Offshore Director of the Under Secretary’s Office for Hydrocarbons, Secretary’s Office for Energy; Sebastián Galeazzi, Director of Exploration of Total Austral; Néstor Bolatti, Manager of Offshore Exploration of YPF; Daniel Pérez Simón, Manager of Exploration and Reservoirs of Enap Sipetrol; Alan Hopping, General Manager of Searcher Seismic, and Lucila Dalmau of the National Commission on the Outer Limit of the Continental Shelf (COPLA).
The speaker representing Spectrum was Richie Miller, Exploration Advisor for South America. Ricardo Veiga of Tecpetrol participated as moderator.
The following day, Hannah Kearns, also a professional from Spectrum, made a series of "Special Presentations” on "Prospects for Uruguay and Argentina in Offshore Exploration."
Kearns stressed the role of ARPEL as the organization of Latin America and the Caribbean whose main objective is the cooperation and integration of the industry.
