FIRST EDITION OF RETOS COURSE IN CHILE

  • Professionals of RECOPE, ENAP and SONACOL participated in the eleventh edition of ARPEL Course on “Evaluation of Programs to Address Oil Spills” using the ARPEL Manual and the Tool RETOS.

Conducted for the first time in Chile, the training took place June 21-22 at the Center for Advanced Studies and Extension - PUCV.

ARPEL developed the Oil Spill Response Planning and Readiness Assessment Manual and its Readiness Evaluation/Excel Tool for Oil Spills - RETOS with the support of international experts.

The purpose of the Manual and the Tool is to provide a general guide to oil sector operators and governments, so that they may assess their own management and apply the best practices to ensure the continuous improvement of their oil spill response management.

RETOS has become an international reference on the subject, and is currently used by companies and governments in the five continents.

The purpose of the course is that the participants become acquainted with and apply the tools designed by the team of experts led by ARPEL and identify deficiencies, information requirements and ways to improve.

RETOS is available in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese and can be downloaded by clicking here
