PETROBRAS, NEW ARPEL MEMBER

  • Petrobras joins ARPEL as a new active member. Petrobras is a corporation that operates in an integrated and specialized manner in the oil, natural gas and energy industry.

The company is recognized worldwide for its technology for the exploration and production of oil and natural gas in ultra-deep waters.

However, its business goes beyond the scope of the extraction of oil and gas, involving a long process through which it transports oil and gas to its refineries and natural gas treatment units.

Petrobras has a large proven reserve base and produces most of Brazil's oil and gas.

Most of its national proven reserves are located in the Campos and Santos Basins in southeastern Brazil. The Santos Basin is currently the main source of future growth in proven reserves and oil production.

As of December 31, 2021, Petrobras' workforce totaled 45,532 employees (parent company and subsidiaries in Brazil and abroad).

Petrobras has 22 units of its own in Brazil: 7 Exploration & Production units and 15 Refining & Natural Gas units.
