NEW EDITION OF COURSE ON EXTERNAL CORROSION OF PIPELINES WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF TECHNICIANS FROM CHILE, COSTA RICA, MEXICO AND PERU
March 2018. In mid-February, a new edition of the training course on Pipeline Integrity Management devoted to External Corrosion was held at the facilities of COGA, in Lurín, Peru.
This was the third module carried out with the support of this ARPEL member company and the participation of professionals from Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico and Peru on behalf of the Enap, Recope, Morelos O&M, Petroperu, Pluspetrol and COGA.
In September and November of this year, the second and fourth modules of training will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In the module carried out in Peru, the different types of external corrosion that may occur in a pipeline were addressed in order to facilitate their identification and establish the most appropriate inspection techniques to make them evident, and the aspects that may be considered for their mitigation.
This training program provided by ARPEL consists of four theoretical and practical modules, upon the approval of which the student automatically receives the Regional Accreditation as Pipeline Integrity Management Evaluator: I) External Corrosion, II) Internal Corrosion, III) Forces of Nature, Operational Errors and Third Party Actions, and IV) Mechanical Integrity Assessment and Risk Analysis.
