The members of the Exploration and Production Committee, who represent more than twenty of the leading oil and gas companies in the region, elected Mario Grinberg of YPF as the new Chairman for the period 2018-2020.

"As Chairman of the Exploration and Production Committee of ARPEL, I would like to strengthen this area where members exchange experiences to improve, and dialogue and collaboration with governments, industry and society are encouraged so that the E&P activity acts as a lever for the development of our countries in a safe and environmentally friendly manner,” Grinberg said.

The Exploration and Production Committee created in 2008 focuses, inter alia, on the assessment of challenges and the promotion of opportunities for the development of the upstream business in the region. It also discusses new technologies and develops best management practices with the goal of continuously improving the operational performance of the sector.

Meanwhile, Miguel Moyano, Upstream Director of ARPEL, said, “we represent a unique regional forum for upstream companies in the value chain committed to exchanging experiences and knowledge on operational and management challenges.”

He then added that one of the main objectives of the Exploration and Production Committee of the Association is to promote the sustainable development of the oil and gas resources in the region through the interaction with governmental players and other key stakeholders".
