WINNER OF CONTEST ORGANIZED TOGETHER WITH OLADE PARTICIPATED IN THE OIL AND GAS CONFERENCE ARPEL 2017

  • In order to encourage and strengthen research in the regional energy sector and to disseminate this knowledge among the academic community, a contest was organized by ARPEL and the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) entitled “What is being done with the gas associated to oil in Latin America and the Caribbean?”

    This competition brought together researchers and experts of the hydrocarbon sector to develop a scientific article on "venting and flaring of gas associated with oil in Latin America and the Caribbean."

    The winner of the contest was María Elena Ayuso, with the paper entitled "Analysis of associated natural gas flaring and venting practices." Obstacles and progress made in Latin America."

    Ayuso is an Economist graduated from the Central University of Venezuela, with Specialization in Natural Gas Business Management from the Simón Bolívar University. She currently serves as Regional Sales Manager, Economy, Finance and Trade Panamerican Technology Group S.A.

    The contest winner was invited to participate in the Oil and Gas Conference ARPEL 2017 and will also receive a monetary award for research and a free admission to an ARPEL course of her choice.
