First Latin American Symposium on Human Talent and Knowledge Management in the Oil and Gas Industry

  • ARPEL, Regional Association of Oil, Gas and Biofuels Sector Companies in Latin America and the Caribbean, brings together more than 120 specialists in the first symposium on human capital management sponsored by Repsol and Petroperu.

    Amanda Pereira, Director of Strategic Affairs of ARPEL; Esteban Bertarelli, Project Manager of PETROPERU, and Maria Jesús Blasco, Chairperson of the Human Talent and Knowledge Management Committee of ARPEL, opened this event by emphasizing the importance of discussing trends, challenges and best practices in management of people that member companies have been implementing.

    In its first day, this symposium, which is being held in Lima, featured lectures, plenary sessions and round tables on relevant issues, such as trends in human resources management, the alignment of human resources and business strategies, corporate universities and their management and implementation processes, the expectations of senior management, succession and career planning. It also presented tools and practices for the management of human talent.

    In its second day, the specialists will share their experiences and knowledge regarding leadership; attracting and retaining talent; creation of value in trade union relations as well as the coordinated work on knowledge management, human talent and innovation.

    The Human Talent and Knowledge Management Committee of ARPEL promotes this event that brings together managers, professionals and staff linked to the area of human talent and knowledge management of companies and concentrates over 90% of the upstream and downstream activities in Latin America.
