AXION ENERGY, ECOPETROL, ENAP, RAÍZEN AND YPF IN WORKSHOP ON MASS BALANCE CLOSURE IN REFINERIES
On March 10, the Refining Committee held a workshop to exchange best practices in Mass Balance Closure, including coal.
The theme of the virtual meeting was proposed by Ecopetrol's Cartagena Refinery, and the meeting was attended by professionals from the refineries of the member companies Axion Energy, ENAP, Raízen and YPF.
The closing of the mass balance in the refineries is an indicator of the optimization of the use of the raw material being processed, which implies profitability and is a reason for accounting audits with legal implications for those responsible.
The quantification of the load and production of liquid and gaseous components is easy to solve because its measurement is very accurate, but when a solid product such as coal is involved, the measurement might be more difficult.
