INTERIM EXECUTIVE SECRETARY OF ARPEL TAKES OVER POST, MIGUEL MOYANO

  • On August 3, 2020, the Chemical Engineer Miguel Moyano assumed as interim Executive Secretary of ARPEL.

    Moyano began his career in the Association in 1991, and acted as Project Manager in the Environment, Health and Safety Committees; Refining; Pipelines and Terminals; Social Responsibility; Climate Change, and Exploration and Production.

    Moyano's role in ARPEL has evolved, from participating in the development of more than 200 technical documents, many of them used in the management systems of oil and gas companies and as a reference to develop industry regulations in the Region, to being responsible for the interaction with governments and national and international organizations in the sector. Moyano will also continue to exercise the functions inherent to his current position as Upstream Director.

    Is a Chemical Engineer from the University of the Uruguayan Republic, with a Diploma in Marine Pollution Chemistry from the University of Liverpool, and an Oil & Gas MBA from the University of Middlesex, both from England. Between 1981 and 1997 he worked as a Professor at the University of the Republic and in the Oceanography Department of the Navy. He also worked as a consultant for several international organizations.
