ARPEL present at meeting of Regulatory Agencies and Ministries in Mexico

  • On March 21, the National Hydrocarbons Commission of Mexico (CNH) hosted on the Meeting of Regulatory Agencies and Ministries on energy matters, within the framework of the "Energy Opportunities" conference series of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG).

    ARPEL was specially invited to participate in this technical meeting, which was intended only for Regulatory Agencies, Ministries and Associations, in order to exchange ideas and experiences on current trends in the hydrocarbon sector, best practices and lessons learned in each country.

    ARPEL was represented by Carlos Garibaldi, Executive Secretary, and Miguel Moyano, Senior Managing Director.

    The meeting, in which ARPEL participated in order to provide the perspective of the regional industry's experience, included four roundtable discussions on the following topics: Safeguarding the historical archive of cores and physical samples of wells; Exploration and development plans; Support for the development of communities, and Regulatory efficiency in energy matters.

    ARPEL also participated in the roundtable with representatives from the AAPG, the National Association of Hydrocarbon Producers (ANPHI), the Mexican Association of Hydrocarbon Companies (AMEXHI) and the CNH.

    In the same week, ARPEL was part of the AAPG's "Energy Opportunities" Conference. In this new edition, Garibaldi was in charge of moderating the session entitled "What's in a Name? Transforming from Oil and Gas to Energy", with a panel that included Vernon Paltoo, President of National Energy of Trinidad and Tobago; Frederico Miranda of Eneva; and Sean Kimiagar of Enverus.

    The International Mining and Oil & Gas Law, Development, and Investment Special Institute, organized by The Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the academic and practical study of the legal aspects of natural resources and energy, was also held in Mexico City from April 19 to 21.

    On this occasion, Garibaldi spoke about the transformation and opportunity the energy industry is currently facing in Latin America and the Caribbean.
