ARPEL PRESENT IN THE LATIN AMERICA ENERGY FORUM

  • ARPEL participated in the Latin America Energy Forum, an event organized by EnergyNet and promoted by IGU (International Gas Union) for the development of the sector in Latin America and the Caribbean. It was held February 25-27 in Miami, United States of America, organized together with the Powering Africa Summit.

    Both events were attended by approximately 400 delegates from the main gas companies in the region, government officials, among them the Minister of Bolivia, Mr. Luis Alberto Sánchez, multilateral banks, and investment and development agencies.

    Mr. Pablo Ferragut, Sustainability Project Manager of ARPEL, participated as moderator of the panel entitled "Overview 2025: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and the regional energy cooperation.” Participants in this panel included Mr. Carlos Quispe, Deputy Minister of Hydrocarbons of Bolivia; Mr. Andres Guevara, Business Development Director for Gas Value Chains of British Petroleum; Mr. Philipe Dupuis, Director General of Total Gas Marketing Southern Cone; Ms. Lida Fitts, Regional Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, U.S. Trade and Development Agency.

    The panel provided an overview of the regional gas markets and their medium-term prospects, taking into account the new dynamics of the markets of these countries and the resulting possibilities of business and investment.

    In addition, a meeting was held of the Advisory Board of LGC (the Latin America & Caribbean Gas Conference & Exhibition), which will be organized in the second half of 2019 with a focus on the development of natural gas markets and integration, and on energy transition in Latin America and the Caribbean.
