ARPEL LED VISIT OF DELEGATION OF COLOMBIA TO ARGENTINA TO STRENGTHEN THE DEVELOPMENT OF UNCONVENTIONAL RESERVOIRS

  • After leading a delegation of Brazilian authorities in October 2018, ARPEL led the visit a delegation of Colombian authorities to Argentina to be acquainted with the experience of this country in the exploration, development and production of unconventional natural gas in the province of Neuquén.

    During this international integration and cooperation activity, the Association coordinated the Task Force responsible for the organization, which included the Secretariat of Energy of Argentina, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Neuquén, the Vice-Ministry of Energy of Colombia, the Colombian Petroleum Association (ACP), the Argentine Institute of Oil and Gas (IAPG), YPF and other companies and institutions in the hydrocarbons sector. The Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) also collaborated with this experience.

    On the first day, September 11, a meeting was held between the authorities of the Governments of Argentina and Colombia in the Secretariat of Energy.

    ARPEL was represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Carlos Colo, the Executive Secretary, Izeusse Braga, and the Upstream Director, Miguel Moyano.

    Simultaneously, a group of technicians of the Government of Colombia visited the research center of YPF, Y-TEC.

    During the afternoon, the Seminar "Exploration and Production of Unconventional Hydrocarbons in Argentina” was held with the participation of representatives of IAPG, Tecpetrol, Pluspetrol, YPF and ARPEL.

    The following day, at the Tower of Banco Provincia de Buenos Aires, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alejandro Monteiro, welcomed a day of exchange where different topics were discussed, such as contractual aspects of unconventionals, economic aspects, environmental licensing process, control of water resources, the role of suppliers in the exploration value chain and management of communication and community relations.

    Finally, on September 13, YPF organized a visit of the working group to the Vaca Muerta field.
